Karnataka Election 2023: State An ATM For Congress, JD(S), Says PM Modi At Ramanagara Rally

Addressing a rally at Channapatna in Ramanagara district on Sunday, PM Modi said both Congress and JD(S) look for opportunities for corruption and unstable government.

New Delhi: Launching a blistering attack on Congress and JD(S), Prime Minister Narendra Modi said both the “dynastic parties” are responsible for political instability in Karnataka and they have always seen the state as an ATM. Addressing a rally at Channapatna in Ramanagara district on Sunday, PM Modi said both the parties see opportunities for corruption and unstable government.

“The Congress and the JD(S) are responsible for the instability. They pretend to be two separate parties but are one in their hearts. They are together in Delhi. They assist each other in Parliament,” PM Modi said while speaking at the JD(S) bastion.

“Both are dynastic parties and encourage corruption. Both the parties see opportunity in instability. For a very long time, Karnataka has seen the drama of unstable government. Unstable governments provide a chance to loot,” he added.

“There is always a fight to loot and (the focus is) not development in the unstable government,” PM Modi further said.

Slamming the JD(S), PM Modi said the party had openly declared that if it bagged 15 to 20 seats in the election to the 224-member Assembly, then it would be the kingmaker.

“This selfish approach may benefit one family but it causes losses to lakhs of families of Karnataka,” the Prime Minister said. "Congress and JD(S) are symbols of instability. JD(S) is the B team of Congress and it wants to join Congress in looting Karnataka," he added.

It is to be noted that this was PM Modi’s fifth public meeting in the past two days in poll-bound Karnataka, which goes to polls on May 10.

Earlier in the day, at a public gathering in Kolar, PM Modi termed Congress as an 'outdated engine' and said, "Development halted due to them (Congress). Congress has a bundle of fake guarantees. They doesn't fulfil any promise made to the public. 'Unfulfilled guarantees' are their record. They betrayed the public, but BJP fulfilled all the guarantees by doing several development works."
