'BJP Leaders Hatching Plot To Kill Kharge': Congress's Big Allegation Ahead Of Karnataka Polls

Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala on Saturday alleged that BJP leaders were hatching a plot to murder party chief Mallikarjun Kharge and his entire family

Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala on Saturday alleged that BJP leaders were hatching a plot to murder party chief Mallikarjun Kharge and his entire family. He said, "This is now clear from the recording of BJP's candidate from Chittapur who also happens to be the blue-eyed boy of PM Modi and CM Bommai."

"Intimidated by the all-round blessing of Kannadigas being showered on the Congress Party and facing a complete rout in the ensuing assembly elections, the BJP and its leadership are now resorting to hatching a “murder plot” to kill AICC President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, his wife and the entire family," he said.

He asked, "Is the political discourse stooping to “assassination attempts” in face of imminent defeat?"

The party spokesperson released a purported audio clip of a BJP leader and said, "Meet Manikant Rathod, the BJP candidate from Chittapur constituency, who has over 40 criminal cases against him. He also happens to be the "blue-eyed boy" of PM Modi & CM Bommai. In this viral audio, the BJP leader can be heard saying-
*"Will wipe off Kharge's family"*"

The party tweeted the list of cases against the said BJP leader. "Here's the list of pending criminal cases against him:
- Attempt to murder
- Illegal transportation of Anna Bhagya rice
- Drugs and narcotics smuggling
- Iillegal possession of fire arms
- Criminal intimidation," the tweet read.

Congress said, "It is evident that the BJP operates on the politics of hate. Facing imminent defeat in the Karnataka elections, the 40% commission govt has touched a new low by plotting to kill the entire family of our honourable party President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge."

This is not an attack on Shri Mallikarjun Kharge but on the honour and life of every Kannadiga!, Congress stated.

The development comes as the state prepares to go to polls on May 10.
