'CM Post For Rs 2500 Cr': Congress Scales Up Attack, Releases BJP's 'Corruption Rate Card'
Karnataka Election 2023: Scaling up its attack on the BJP, the Congress party alleged that the Karnataka Chief Minister's post was up for grabs for Rs 2500 in the "40% sarkara".
The Congress on Friday issued posts and advertisements targeting the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party on the issue of corruption. The party put up a "rate card" of alleged BJP corruption in Karnataka and advertised the same in local newspapers. This comes as the opposition party backtracked on its proposal to ban the Bajrang Dal if the party won the 2023 Karnataka election. Senior Congress leader M Veerappa Moily on Thursday said that the state government can't actually ban an outfit as that power lies with the Centre.
Scaling up its attack on the ruling BJP, the Congress alleged that the Karnataka Chief Minister's post was up for grabs for Rs 2500 crores and the rate of ministerial posts is Rs 500 crores. The image also features figures for "Appointment and Transfer Rates", "Job Rates", and alleged commission for government deals.
"Kannadigas! Here is the corruption rate card of the 'TROUBLE ENGINE' 40% Sarkara," reads a tweet by the Congress party.

The party has been mocking the Basvaraj Bommai-led dispensation for being a "40 per cent commission" government. During a rally, Rahul Gandhi said that the people of Karnataka coined the term and not the Congress party
In response to the label, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in Kolar that "Congress is an 85 per cent commission party. Congress Prime Minister himself had said that for every rupee that goes to the farmers, only 15 paisa reaches them. The remaining 85 paise went to their leadership."
