'Fight To Save Democracy': INDIA Bloc Leaders To Hold 'Maha Rally' On March 31 Amid Kejriwal's Arrest
I.N.D.I.A bloc allies Congress and AAP announced to hold a 'maha rally' on March 31 at Delhi's Ramlila ground.
The opposition's I.N.D.I.A bloc will hold a 'maha rally' on March 31 at Delhi's Ramlila ground to "safeguard the country's interests and democracy", said Aam Aadmi Party leader Gopal Rai on Sunday. The announcement comes after Delhi Chief Minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday in a money laundering case linked to the alleged irregularities in the implementation of the now-scrapped excise policy in the national capital.
Kejriwal was sent to the custody of the central agency till March 28 by a court in Delhi on Friday.
The rally was announced by Congress and AAP during a press conference.

"We will hold a 'maha rally' at Ramlila Maidan on March 31 against what is happening in the country. The top leadership of the INDIA bloc will participate in the event," Rai said. "Democracy and the country are in danger. All the INDIA-bloc parties will hold this 'maha rally' to safeguard the country's interests and democracy," he added.
The Congress' Delhi unit chief, Arvinder Singh Lovely alleged that the opposition parties were not being given level playing field, highlighting the freezing of party's bank accounts and Kejriwal's arrest. "The March 31 'maha rally' will not only be a political one but a call to save the country's democracy and raise voices against the BJP-led Centre," he said.
