If Congress gets more than 40 seats, will Modi hang himself at Delhi's Vijay Chowk?: Kharge

Taking on PM Modi over his confidence on defeat of Congress, the senior party leader said “Where ever he goes, Modi keeps saying that Congress will not win 40 seats. Do you believe that?”

New Delhi: Amid heated political scenario in the wake of Lok Sabha elections, Congress leader Malikarjun Kharge has in fact attempted to fuel the heat by making a controversial statement. Taking on PM Modi over his confidence on defeat of Congress, the senior party leader said “Where ever he goes, Modi keeps saying that Congress will not win 40 seats. Do you believe that?” “If Congress gets more than 40 seats, will Modi hang himself at Delhi's Vijay Chowk?” he added. Hitting back at Kharge, BJP leader Amit Malviya said “Why is Mallikarjun Kharge so upset with PM Modi for suggesting that Congress may not win even 40 seats, someone asked? Because Congress plans to hail Rahul Gandhi as a political genius if the Congress manages anything more than 44 and a number of 40 simply ruins that plan...” Political tug of war and spat of words is a normal thing in 2019 Lok Sabha election. Earlier, PM Modi took on former Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi and addressed him as "Bhrashtachaari number one". The statement drew a lot of flak from the opposition who lashed out at PM Modi for making such remarks against former PM.
