EXCLUSIVE | Akhilesh Yadav Says SP Is Deceiving BJP This Time By Fighting UP Polls On Development

Soon after the declaration of the election dates, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav clarified doubts regarding the UP assembly elections at the ABP News show ‘Ghoshnapatra’.

Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2022: As the battleground gets ready for the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the war of words has also intensified. Soon after the declaration of the election dates, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav clarified doubts regarding the UP assembly elections at the ABP News show ‘Ghoshnapatra’.

On the question of whether Akhilesh Yadav is contesting against CM Yogi or PM Modi, he said that the assembly election belongs to the state government, not to the center. He affirmed that the people of the state want to defeat the ‘Baba’ CM.

He further attacked BJP saying that “senior BJP leaders are coming to UP fearing a defeat in the election.” However, no one knows who is their face, “Where is their groom? A single chariot of SP would be stronger than six of theirs,” he added.

He further answered the question about calling Mamata Banerjee in UP and said she is a political leader and would be called post-election if needed.

Why Did Akhilesh Yadav Lose the 2017 Election?

On the question of why did Akhilesh Yadav lose the 2017 election despite the slogan of ‘Kaam bolta hai’ (Work speaks for itself), he said that they were unable to tell people what work they have done as they do not sell lies like the BJP. He further added that the BJP deceives people in the name of religion.

He added that this time they are deceiving the BJP as they are fighting the elections on development. He even recounted his promise of giving 300 units of free electricity if SP comes to power.

Shamshan VS Kabristan

Yadav attacked BJP for their incompetency and mismanagement during the covid-19 crisis in the state. He said that the BJP government could not provide medicines and oxygen to people when they needed it. Rather they indulged in the debate of Shamshan (crematorium) vs Kabristan (graveyard). He added that the people of the state have already made the report card of BJP and their freebies are of no use now.

Will Akhilesh Yadav Visit Ayodhya?

Akhilesh Yadav further threw light on his Ayodhya visit saying that he does not worship to show it off. He added that he will visit Ayodhya once the temple is ready and also give donations, but it is not a matter of concern for the BJP.

Yadav also claimed that the work of augmenting power production was done during the regime of SP. The infrastructure strengthening and construction of the international stadium were also completed during that time. Even the work for the Ballia bridge and the Varuna riverfront was also undertaken. He added that his government also worked towards developing tourism in the state.
