EC Flying Squad Checks Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s Helicopter In Nilgiris

Rahul Gandhi visited Wayanad on Monday and addressed a roadshow. He is also scheduled to address a farmers’ rally in Pulpally, and hold roadshows in Mananthavady, Vellamunda and Padinjarathara.

The helicopter used by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi as he headed for Tamil Nadu and Kerala on campaign visits Monday was checked by Election Commission (EC) officials.

According to a PTI report, an EC flying squad checked the helicopter after it landed in Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu, where he held a roadshow. Gandhi visited the Nilgiris district in Tamil Nadu and interacted with students at the Nilgiri College of Arts and Science.

Polling in Kerala’s 20 Lok Sabha seats will be held on April 26.

Addressing his constituency, Gandhi said the main fight today was between the ideologies of the RSS and the Congress.

“The BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi say ‘one nation, one people, one language and one leader’. It is a fundamental misunderstanding of the country,” he added.

Later in the day, Gandhi is scheduled to address a farmers’ rally in nearby Pulpally. He is also expected to hold roadshows in Mananthavady, Vellamunda and Padinjarathara, and address party workers. He will also address a rally of the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) in neighbouring Kozhikode district.

The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) won 19 of Kerala’s 20 seats in 2019. While the Congress won 15, the Indian Union Muslim League won two, and the Revolutionary Socialist Party and the Kerala Congress (M) got one each.
