'Let’s Debate Delhi': Congress’s Pawan Khera Hits Back At Kejriwal Over Chhattisgarh Schools Claim

Pawan Khera challenged Arvind Kejriwal to pick a sector of his choice in the national capital for a debate on his governance as compared to previous Congress governments.

New Delhi: Congress leader Pawan Khera on Saturday lashed out at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over his criticism of the state of schools in Chhattisgarh and dared him to a debate on his governance as compared to previous Congress governments in the national capital.

Taking to his official handle on X, formerly Twitter, the Congress leader said the performance of the Congress government in Chhattisgarh should be compared to that of the previous BJP regime and not Delhi’s model of governance under the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

“Why go to Raipur? Performance of our Chhattisgarh government will be compared with the previous Raman Singh government,” Khera posted on X.

The Congress leader challenged the AAP convenor to pick a sector of his choice in the national capital for a debate on his governance as compared to previous Congress governments.

“Let us choose a sector of your choice and compare the performance of Congress government in Delhi vs your govt here. Ready for a debate?” the Congress leader posted.

“Before you [Kejriwal] board the next flight to Raipur, we should debate the state of affairs in Delhi,” he posted.

Addressing a rally in Raipur earlier on Saturday, the Delhi CM cited a report to point to the “terrible condition” of schools in the Congress-ruled state.

Claiming that none apart from his party talks about the betterment of the education sector, and schools in particular, the AAP supremo pitched the education model in Delhi as a template for the betterment of government schools in Chhattisgarh.

“It has been 76 years to India’s independence but there is no other party apart from ours which talks about building schools and hospitals. We at AAP are not politicians. We did not come into politics to make money,” the AAP convenor said in the poll-bound state, according to PTI.

“I was reading a report that says government schools in Chhattisgarh are in terrible condition. Look at government schools in Delhi. For the first time since Independence, there is a government that has done so much for the education sector," he claimed.

Exhorting voters to repose their electoral faith in his party the AAP chief said, “We are not politicians, we are just common people like you. Give us a chance in Chhattisgarh and you will forget the bitter experiences of all other parties."
