Assembly Polls: EC Withdraws Ban On Victory Processions

New Delhi: Counting of votes in the five states is underway and meanwhile the Election Commission of India has withdraw ban from victory procession for parties wininning the election. In view of Covid-19 pandemic, the ECI had earleir imposed restriction on campaigning by parties, but as the cases decline, the Commission has relaxed the norms.
"Viewing the current status of Covid-19 in polled States, Commission has decided to relax the guidelines on victory processions during and after the counting and has withdrawn the banket ban on victory procession," said the Election Commission, reports ANI.

The Commission, however, added that relaxation will be subjected to existing instruction by the State Disadter Management Authority. "This relaxation will be subject to existing instructions of SDMA and preventive measures, imposed by concerned district authorities," the Commission stated.
In Uttar Pradesh, Bharatiya Janata Party is leading significantly with 272 seats, while the Samajwadi Party is at 122 seats, Bahujan Samaj Party 5, Congress 3, and Others 1.
As per the latest trends, Aam Aadmi Party is leading in Punjab with 90 seats, followed by Congress with 18 seats, Shiromani Akali Dal with 6 seats, Bharatiya Janata Party 2 and Others 1.
In the hill state of Uttarakhand, BJP is ahead on 41 seats, while Congress is on 25 seats. Aam Aadmi Party and BSP have still not any vote in the account while Others have got 4 seats.
In Manipur, with 28 seats, BJP is mraching ahead followed by Others 13, NPP 10 and Congress 9.
The coastal state of Goa has BJP in lead on 19 seats, followed by Congress 12, Others 5 and TMC 3.
