1500 Fake Voter ID cards seized in Bengaluru, BJP says Congress behind it

The BJP and the state party Janta Dal (Secular) are mounting allegations on the Congress party of attempting to rig elections.

New Delhi: Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Karnataka, as many as 1500 voter ID cards were illegally found in SLV apartment in Jalahalli village in Bengaluru. The fake ID cards were seized from Jalahalli near Bahubali Nagar, allegedly belonging to a Congress candidate. The Bharatiya Janta Party and the State Party Janta Dal (Secular) are mounting allegations on the Congress party of attempting to rig elections. They have alleged that the Congress candidate had stored these 1500 voter cards which are fake. Widespread protest is being demonstrated in the city by JDS and BJP leaders. The police are not registering case nor is RO coming to the spot, impelling hundreds of BJP workers to take to streets demanding the case to be registered. The fake ID-card scandal has surfaced at a time when Congress is putting in its full efforts in campaigning. Today the party’s top leader Sonia Gandhi addressed a rally in the poll-bound state, her first in two years. The scandal is speculated to adversely impact its campaign effort.
