Uttarakhand Government's Decision To Reopen Schools Challenged In High Court - Hearing To Be Held Tomorrow

School reopens in Uttarakhand: Schools for classes 9 to 12 have been re-opened in Uttarakhand from August 2, 2021, onwards. The decision to re-open a school has been challenged in the Uttarakhand high court. The petitioner has filed a petition in the Uttarakhand high court in this regard. The high court on Monday asked the petitioner to amend his petition. The petition will now come up for hearing on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.
A bench of Chief Justice R S Chauhan and Justice Alok Kumar found that the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) issued by the state government for re-opening schools has not been challenged properly in the petition. The court further said the petition was filed on July 29, 2021, while the state government issued an SOP on July 31, 2021, regarding the re-opening of schools.

Haridwar resident files petition:
Allowing the petition to be rectified, the Uttarakhand high court fixed August 4, 2021, as the next date of hearing. Vijaypal, a resident of Haridwar, has filed a PIL in the Uttarakhand high court. The petition said the Uttarakhand government has decided to open schools amidst the covid pandemic without any preparation or plan.
Let us tell you that schools for classes 9 to 12 have been opened in Uttarakhand from August 2. The decision has been taken by the state government due to the reduction in corona infection. In the meantime, covid rules have been asked to be followed.
