UGC Net May Exam 2021 Postponed: NTA Announces Deferment Of Test In View Of Surging Covid Cases

UGC Net May Exam 2021 Postponed: Following the orders of the Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the National Testing Agency has decided to postpone the exam. 

New Delhi: National Testing Agency has decided to defer the National Eligibility Test or UGC-NET in view of the ongoing pandemic. The revised dates will be announced on a later day and at least 15 days in advance. 

Following the orders of the Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the National Testing Agency has decided to postpone the exam.

The National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted on behalf of University Grants Commission (UGC) for determining the eligibility for Assistant Professorship, Junior Research Fellowship or both, for Indian Universities and Colleges. 

However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the the Computer Base Test (CBT) which are held twice every year were postponed in 2020. The June 2020 examination got delayed and was deferred to September 2020 until November 2020 to cover all the subjects. The December 2020 cycle had to be postponed and were to be conducted in May 2021. However, as the surge in cases in the second wave has risen exponentially, the NTA decided to defer in further as the health and safety of the candidates is of utmost impotance. 

The candidates are advised to visit the NTA website regularly in the coming days to know the revised dates and further updates.
