TANGEDCO Recruitment 2019: The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) was scheduled to begin the online application process last week on Friday, 22nd March 2019 for its bumper recruitment drive through which it aims to fill 5000 vacancies for the post of Gangman (Trainee). However, the application process is yet to begin, and TANGEDCO has released a notification that reads, ‘Gangman (Trainee) on-line application will be opening shortly.’ In its initial advertisement for the direct recruitment of Gangman 2019, TANGEDCO had notified the requisite qualification as “a pass in ITI Electrician or Wireman in Tamil medium”, however, the same stands changed after TANGEDCO released a corrigendum in which it substituted the aforementioned line to “studied upto V Standard or above (as the case may be) in Tamil medium”. Thereby, candidates who are Class 5th passed or above in Tamil medium must avail this job opportunity to pursue a career with the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO). Candidates must note that upon selection, they will be appointed as Gangman Trainees for a period of two years. Upon successful completion of the training, they’ll be regularized. The finally selected candidates will be receive a fixed consolidated pay of Rs. 15,000 per month during the two year training period. Upon regularization, the Gangman Trainees will be placed in level-1 of the pay matrix and will be placed in the pay scale of Rs.16,400 – 51,500 per month. The shortlisting of the candidates will be done on the basis of a Physical Test. Candidates who qualify the same will be eligible to appear for the Competitive Written Examination. As per Service Regulation, the persons appointed as Gangman are not eligible for Cadre Conversion and Internal Selection irrespective of their qualification.
