Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University Invites Applications For Its First BA Batches

The shortlisting of candidates for SSCTU Admissions 2024 shall be done based on CUET-UG 2024 scores.

The Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University (SSCTU) has started the application process for its first batch of BA programmes. Interested candidates who wish to enroll in the SSCTU can submit their applications online on the official website - ssctu.ac.in. The last date to apply for admissions is March 26, 2023.  Notably, the Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University is a newly established university in Telangana, and is mentored by the University of Hyderabad, a central university and an institution of eminence. For its first batch, the SSCTU is inviting applications for BA English (Honours) and BA Social Science (Honours). Both the undergraduate programmes shall be of four years duration and will have an intake of 33 students in each programme. 

Candidates may note that the SSCTU will shortlist candidates for admissions based on their performance in the CUET-UG 2024 Exam. Therefore, candidates who will be appearing for the CUET UG Exam 2024 should apply for SSCTU Admissions 2024. Before applying for admissions though, interested candidates are advised to go through the detailed eligibility criteria for both the programmes and other details as laid down by the university.

Besides CUET UG 2024 Scores, candidates aspiring to join the BA English programme must have scored a minimum aggregate of 60% in Class 12 with English as one of the subjects. For the BA Social Science programme, candidates just have scored 60% in Class 12 in any stream. However, candidates from Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes only need to pass the qualifying examination to be eligible for SSCTU Admissions 2024.

Notably, the SSCTU University has been established in the District Headquarters of Mulugu, Telangana, by an Act of Parliament. Earlier on March 8, Union Minister of State, G Kishan Reddy, inaugurated the SSCTU campus in Mulugu, Telangana. The university has been named after tribal deities of the region. The university will operate from a transit campus located in Jakaram village near the District Headquarters of Mulugu till the construction of the permanent campus is completed.

Making way for the SSCTU, PM Modi in October last year announced the establishment of a new Central Tribal University in Telangana, in his address to a public gathering in Mahbubnagar, Telangana. In his announcement, PM Modi further underlined that the varsity shall be named after tribal goddesses ‘Sammakka and Sarakka,’ and the university shall be developed with a budget of Rs 900 crore.
