Noida: 5 School Students Booked For Assaulting, Molesting Classmate

As per the police, a Class 11 girl of a private school in Noida’s Sector-100 was assaulted by her classmates.

Five students from a private school in Noida have been booked for allegedly assaulting and molesting their classmate on the school premises, and investigation is underway into the matter, as per the police. The girl's father reportedly claimed that the girl reported the incident first to the school principal on October 9. However, the accused misbehaved with the girl again following which he approached the police, as per the girl’s father. The school is a private school located in sector 100, Noida.

With the matter escalating, the school has also said that it has started its own probe into the ‘disciplinary’ matter. "The girl, who studies in Class 11, was assaulted by her classmates. An FIR has been lodged at the local Sector 39 police station after which the girl was sent for medical examination,” the police spokesperson was reported as saying by news agency PTI.

The spokesperson further said that all allegations into the matter are being investigated appropriately. "The complainant and the accused all are minors. The school principal was informed about the episode over mail by the girl. What action did the school take after her complaint, that is also being checked,” the spokesperson was further reported as saying.

As per the police, an FIR has been lodged into the matter under sections 147 (rioting), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 352, (assault or criminal force), 345A (sexual assault), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

In his police complaint on October 13, the girls father claimed that his daughter had earlier informed the school principal of "vulgar" talk, and "sexual harassment" by the accused students, objecting the boy’s alleged acts. However, the boys told her that they can go to ‘any limits.’

"Despite being informed about it, the school did nothing. Today, on October 13, my daughter called me up once again in the afternoon to inform me of the repeated behaviour. I immediately called up the principal and asked what was happening. They have only been assuring of investigating the matter," the girl’s father was reported as claiming.

The father further stated that one of the accused also threatened to kill his daughter. The school also issued a statement into the matter on Saturday, stating that it was aware of the "unfortunate incident" on the campus. "The disciplinary matter is being thoroughly investigated and addressed," the school was reported as saying.
