NEET UG Exam 2021: Students Seeks Supreme Court To Cancel NEET Under Graduate Exam

NEET UG Exam 2021: Students have headed to the Supreme Court demanding cancellation of undergraduate examination. A petition has been filed seeking cancellation of NEET Under Graduate Examination.

New Delhi: A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking the cancellation of the NEET undergraduate examination held on September 12. The petition said that there has been a large scale fraud in the National Medical Entrance Examination. Except CBI police in several states have registered a case in this regard. The petitioners have demanded the examination be re-conducted. This time security arrangements should be tightened so that there are no discrepancies.

Several NEET examinees including Vishwanath Kumar have filed the petition through advocate Mamata Sharma. He has said that the coaching centre and the gang that solved the question paper conspired together to hatch a massive criminal conspiracy. Some were caught taking exams in lieu of students for Rs 50 lakh while on the other hand question papers were leaked through WhatsApp. Many such incidents have been reported all over the country. The CBI has registered an FIR in the case. Police from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra have also registered cases and have joined the investigation.

'Students who study hard have been deceived'

The petitioners have said that millions of students studying hard have been cheated. Some cases have already come to light. But it is feared that many wrongdoers are still at large. In such a situation, it would be better to declare the examination held on September 12 as cancelled. The court should seek a status report of investigation from CBI and state police. Also, it should issue a directive to conduct the examination afresh.

The petition also demands to give directions to the Union Ministry of Education, National Testing Agency and National Medical Commission to provide adequate security in the examination. It has been said that arrangements such as biometric verification of students, use of jammers in examination centres could significantly reduce incidents of cheating. The petition was filed on Tuesday. The petitioner's counsel has expressed hope that the hearing may take place on Friday or next week.
