The CBI has arrested two more individuals, including a candidate, from Patna in connection with the alleged NEET-UG paper leak.

New Delhi: The CBI has arrested two additional individuals, including a candidate, from Patna in connection with the alleged NEET-UG paper leak, bringing the total number of arrests by the agency to 11, news agency PTI quoted officials as saying.  The arrested individuals include NEET-UG aspirant Sunny from Nalanda and Ranjit Kumar, the father of another candidate from Gaya.

So far, the CBI has arrested eight individuals in Bihar related to the NEET-UG paper leak, one in Gujarat's Latur, one in Godhra, and one in Dehradun for general conspiracy, according to the officials.

Previously, the agency had arrested the principal and vice principal of Oasis School in Hazaribagh, as well as two individuals who allegedly provided safe premises for NEET candidates, where burnt question papers were recovered by Bihar Police.

The CBI, investigating the alleged irregularities in the medical entrance exam, has registered six FIRs. The FIR from Bihar pertains to the paper leak, while the remaining FIRs from Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra involve impersonation and cheating.

Additionally, the agency has its own FIR based on a reference from the Union Education Ministry, which calls for a comprehensive investigation into the alleged irregularities in the examination.

The Supreme Court hearing regarding the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG medical entrance exam has been scheduled for July 11.
