The main suspect, Sikandar Yadavendra, admitted to buying the leaked NEET exam papers from one Amit Anand and Nitish Kumar for 30-32 lakh rupees. He then sold these papers to Anurag Yadav from Samastipur, Ayush Kumar from Danapur, Shivanandan Kumar from Gaya, and Abhishek Kumar from Ranchi for 40 lakh rupees each, as per an ABP news report.
It has also been revealed that these candidates were coached overnight in Ramkrishna Nagar, Patna, just before the NEET exam on May 4.
Meanwhile, efforts to locate Sanjeev Mukhiya alias Lootan, another key suspect in the NEET paper leak case, are ongoing. His son, Shiv Kumar, is already in custody in connection with a BPSC paper leak case. So far, 13 arrests have been made in Bihar in connection with the NEET paper leak case.
Notably, amid a heated controversy and demands by opposition to re-conduct the NEET-UG medical entrance exam, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Thursday that a few cases of cheating shouldn't affect the students who passed the exam fairly.
He called the UGC-NET exam question paper leak a "failure of the system" at the National Testing Agency (NTA). Pradhan also said the government will set up a special group to review how the agency works.
