Mizoram Board To Conduct Pending Class 12 Board Exams From June 16

Mizoram Board of Education (MBSE) has announced that the pending board exams (HSSLC) for Class 12 will be held between June 16 and 18.

New Delhi: The Mizoram Board of Education (MBSE) has announced that that it will conduct the remaining board exams (HSSLC) between June 16 and 18. The exams were abruptly suspended due to the Coronavirus lockdown in March, leaving about 4,700 students who could not complete their board examinations in Economics, Chemistry, Sociology, Computer Science and Home Science. According to a PTI report, the MBSE had, earlier, announced the resumption of the board examinations from April 22, which triggered stiff opposition from students citing various inconveniences amid the nationwide lockdown. The authorities postponed it following an appeal by the central government to put on hold the examinations due to the lockdown. Compartmental exams for class students will also be conducted on June 16th at 11 centers across the state. On Monday, Kerala started the remaining VHSE and SSLC papers with extensive measures to prevent the Coronavirus from spreading. Mizoram has one patient who was finally tested to COVID negative as the health minister announced earlier this month. Meanwhile, those who are returning to the state from other parts of the country are allowed to self-isolate at home if they clear the coronavirus test.  This is being done as there are not enough COVID facilities to accommodate everyone. There are set guidelines for those who have returned on how to home quarantine which includes a dedicated bedroom and toilet facilities for the returnees.
