JEE Mains 2020: What Covid 19 Precautions Will Be Taken At The Exam Centres?

After the Supreme Court dismissed student petition seeking postponement of NEET and JEE exams, the National Testing Agency has released special instructions for the upcoming JEE(Main) exams.

New Delhi: After the Supreme Court dismissed a petition by students seeking the postponement of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), scheduled to be held in September 2020, students are bracing for the upcoming exams. The revised schedule for the exams JEE (Mains)- September 1-6; JEE-advanced- September 27, NEET examination- September 13. As the cases of coronavirus remain high in the country, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will be using special precautions. One of the significant changes this year is that candidates will have to provide a declaration form stating that they are Covid 19 negative. ALSO READ| DU OBE: Teachers To Evaluate Answer Sheets Of Online Open-Book Exams Digitally According to the instructions released by the NTA, candidates will have to sign the form in the presence of an invigilator on the day of the exam. The official notification states, ‘The candidates are advised to download all the four pages. On the day of the Examination, the candidate has to also bring to the exam centre, the undertaking given on the Admit Card at Page-1 (duly filled in, except his/her signature which he/she will be required to do in the presence of Invigilator). This Undertaking is in addition to the one filled online at the time of downloading the Admit Card.” Scribes with PwD candidates will also have to fill the declaration form. Apart from this, candidates will have to carry hand sanitizer (50 ml) to the exams centres. Candidates can download the admit cards from the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in. According to a report by EdEx Live,  candidates will be provided with a fresh mask before entering the exam hall, they will be asked to remove the one already worn by them, they will also have to sanitize their hand before entering the hall. Computer devices, such as mouse and keyboard will be sanitized after each shift. What is needed to be carried during JEE Main 2020 exam
  1. Candidates have to carry a printout of the admit card and undertaking form which needs to be filled and unsigned, as it must be signed in the presence of the invigilator.
  2. Transparent ballpoint pen.
  3. A Photo ID proof and an additional photograph.
  4. Hand sanitizer (50 ml), transparent water bottle.
  5. PwD certificate (if applicable).
  6. B. Arch. candidates should carry their drawing tools like geometry box, pencils, erasers, color pencils or crayons.
Candidates should keep in mind
  1. Not to bring any electronic items, like iPod, mobile phones etc.
  2. Wear simple clothing and no jewellery.
  3. Shoes with thick soles, bag etc are not allowed.
