JEE Main 2021 Exam Pattern: Know All The Things That Will Be Different In The Upcoming Exam

Several changes have been announced for the upcoming JEE 2021 exams. Here's a list of major changes that were announced.

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released comprehensive FAQs, about the upcoming JEE (Main)-2021. The exams this time will be different and the most important change is that students will get multiple attempts at the exam. Recently, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Wednesday announced that the entrance test for admission in premier IITs, NITs will be held from February 23 to 26. Aspiring candidates can download the application from JEE official website- jeemain.nta.nic.in.   • JEE (Main)-2021 will be conducted in Four Sessions- February, March, April, and May. According to the NTA, will give multiple opportunities to the candidates to improve their scores in the examination if they fail to give their best in one attempt. An official statement says that in the first attempt, the students will get a firsthand experience of taking an examination and will know their mistakes which they can improve while attempting for the next time.
  • A candidate need not appear in all four Sessions. However, if the candidate appears in more than one Session then his/her best of the 2021 NTA Scores will be considered for preparation of Merit List/ Ranking.
  • This will reduce the chances of dropping a year and droppers would not have to waste a full year.
  • However, Paper 2 exams for admission to BArch and BPlanning will continue to be held only in two attempts.
  • Candidates can apply for one or even more sessions in a single form.
Medium of exam Will the JEE (Main)-2021 will be conducted in Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu in addition to Hindi and English. Mode of examination JEE (Main) 2021 Examination will be held in “Computer Based Test” (CBT) Mode only, except that the Drawing Test for B.Arch. will be held in “Pen & Paper” (offline) mode. No negative marking There would be no negative marking in 15 alternative questions. As per the new rule, candidates will have to attempt 75 questions out of 90 – or 25 out of 30 questions in each section of Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. However, there will be no negative marking in the 15 optional questions and the best of four scores will be considered. Candidates should note that the last date to fill the form is January 15.
