JEE Aspirant Goes Missing In Kota, 2nd Incident In A Week

Earlier last week, another student named Rachit Sondhya went missing in Kota who was last seen entering a dense forest area near the city.

In a fresh development coming in from Kota, Rajasthan, a JEE aspirant has gone missing from the coaching hub of the country. Piyush Kapasia, a native of Uttar Pradesh who was preparing for the JEE entrance exam in the city, has been missing since February 13. The student was preparing for the esteemed national-level entrance exam in the city for the past two years, and was staying in a hostel in the Indra Vihar area of the city, NDTV reported.

As per the father of the student, he spoke to his family last Tuesday, and did not attend any call from the family members, and his phone was later switched off. Following the incident, the police have filed a missing complaint made by Piyush’s parents and efforts are on to trace him.

Notably, this is the second such incident reported from Kota where a student has gone missing. Earlier last week, another student, 16-year-old Rachit Sondhya went missing in Kota. The student hailed from Madhya Pradesh and was staying in a hostel in Jawahar Nagar.

Surprisingly, Rachit was seen entering a forest area near Garadiya Mahadev temple, as per a CCTV footage, and later his belongings like bag and keys were recovered from the area, as per the police. The police have also deployed drones in the dense forest to trace Rachit.

Besides circulating Rachit’s posters on social media requesting help from the public, Rachit’s parents have also reached out to the education minister seeking his intervention. The student’s family has also threatened to protest if the police fail to find Rachit.

While four students have committed suicide in Kota in this year by far, two students have succumbed to their deteriorating health while undergoing treatment in hospital. Earlier on Sunday, a 21-year-old student from UP’s Aligarh who was preparing for the NEET exam in Kota lost his life to a severely deteriorating health condition.
