JEE-Advanced 2020: IIT Delhi Appeals Students, Alumni To Help Candidates With Transport Facility
As per the schedule, IIT Delhi will hold the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Advanced on September 27.
New Delhi: Amid the ongoing nationwide protest against centre's decision to hold the JEE and NEET examinations, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has appealed to its students to help the JEE-Advanced candidates with transport facility to reach their exam centres. According to the reports, the institute is making efforts to allocate first choice of examination centre to the students appearing for the JEE-Advanced next month in order to ease their travel issues during the Coronavirus pandemic. In fact, officials have also approached its students and alumni to come up with a registration portal which could take care of the logistics of the needy candidates.
Speaking on the same note, a PTI report quoted IIT Delhi Director V Ramgopal Rao saying, "As citizens, we need to stand up together in times of crisis and help each other."
Rao said that he has appealed IIT alumni and current students, who are spread all over the country, to take a lead in creating a registration portal for such needy students and help take care of their logistics.
"The Olas and Ubers have IIT alumni at the helm. Can they participate in this initiative?” he said, adding that state government, local administrations need to arrange special buses and make special provisions for students taking these examinations.

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Advanced is conducted by the seven Zonal Coordinating (ZC) Indian Institute of Technology for admissions to IITs and National Institutes of Technology.
IIT Delhi will hold the exam on September 27. The test will consist of two question papers – Paper 1 and 2 of three-hour duration each.
