Masks, Thermal Screening, Touch Free Procedures: Check Rules Issued By NTA For JEE, NEET Exams Next Month

NTA has made elaborate arrangements to sanitise the centres before and after the conduct of the examinations, give fresh masks and hand gloves

New Delhi: Keeping in view the current scenario of COVID-19 in the country, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a long list of measures taken by the authority in order to ensure safety of candidates and staff during the conduct of Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) and the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET). Based on the guidelines issued by the central government, NTA has made elaborate arrangements to sanitise the centres before and after the conduct of the examinations, give fresh masks and hand gloves. As said in a statement, the central agency will implement social distancing measures as per Government of India guidelines in current scenario of COVID-19 to ensure health and safety of the candidates without compromising the high standards, sanctity, and fairness in conduct of the examination. It has ensured that all the processes are touch free to ensure social distancing norms. NTA COVID-19 Advisory: Measure & Guidelines For Candidates, Invigilators And Staff 1. Before each shift starts (and after last shift of the candidate) seating area will be thoroughly sanitized - monitor keyboard, mouse, webcam, desk and the chair. Candidates can further sanitize the same with sanitizers that will be made available in the examination lab/room/hall. 2. Frisking through Handheld Metal Detector (HHMD) will be carried out without touching body. 3. Hand Sanitizer will be available at entry and inside the exam venue at various places for candidates and centre staff to use. 4. Rough sheets will be kept at all desks before start of exam by invigilators wearing gloves to ensure hygiene. 5. Candidates need to maintain a space of at least 6 feet from each other at all the time. Queue manager / ropes and Floor Marks will be arranged outside the centre. 6. Lab number will not be displayed outside the centre to avoid any crowding at any one place in any situation. 7. Candidates will be required to sanitize hands by washing with soap and with Hand Sanitizer before entry in centre. Hand sanitizer will be available at various locations in the centre. 8. At time of entry, body temperature of staff, invigilators and students will be checked using Thermo Guns. 9. In case, any staff person and candidate is observed to be having above normal temperature or displaying any symptom of COVID-19 suspect, they will be placed in separate Isolation Room. Candidates will be allowed to write their exam in isolation rooms. 10. Candidate will be offered a fresh 3 Ply mask before entry. In order to stop chances of any UFM being used in the examination, the candidate is expected to wear the freshly provided mask at the centre. The candidate will be required to remove the mask worn by him/ her from home, and use the mask provided at centre only. All candidates are required to download and carefully read the Instructions and Advisory for COVID-19 given with the Admit Card and strictly adhere to them. The Admit Card and related details are in four pages: Page 1 contains the centre details and Self Declaration (Undertaking) form regarding COVID-19; Page 2 has “Important instruction for candidates” ; Page 3 and 4 have “Advisory for candidates regarding COVID-19”. The candidate has to download all the four pages.
