ICAI CA 2019 exam pattern changed, 30% MCQs in CA Inter & Final May 2019 exams onward

ICAI CA 2019 Exam Pattern: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has issued a list of changes in the examination pattern of ICAI CA Intermediate and Final Exams commencing May 2019 and forward. With about a month to go for the ICAI CA May 2019 exams, the Chartered Accountant’s examination body has notified that 30% of the paper will comprise of Multiple Choice Questions in OMR mode. As per the official notification, the below mentioned papers of ICAI Intermediate and Final exams (both under the Old and New syllabus) will be divided into two parts viz Part I (MCQs) and Part II (Descriptive). Multiple sets of the MCQs booklet will be distributed viz A, B, C, D. ICAI has confirmed that there will be no negative marking for wrong answers. The skill level required for the Part I MCQs would be either “knowledge and comprehension” or “application and analysis” as these questions will be either knowledge-based or application- based. These questions will not require any reasoning. Furthermore, OMR Answer Sheets will be in English only for all candidates including the ones who’ve opted for Hindi medium. However, Papers 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8 of Intermediate Level (Both Old and New Syllabus), including the MCQ component will be bilingual for Hindi medium candidates. Part II will be usual and will comprise of descriptive questions carrying 70 marks in all. Changes in ICAI CA Intermediate New Exam Pattern: Paper – 2: Corporate and Other laws Paper – 4: Taxation Paper – 6: Auditing and Assurance Paper – 7: Enterprise Information Systems and Strategic Management Changes in ICAI CA Intermediate (IPC) Exam Pattern: Paper – 2: Business Laws, Ethics and Communication Paper – 4: Taxation Paper – 6: Auditing and Assurance Paper – 7: Information Technology and Strategic Management Changes in ICAI CA Final (New) Exam Pattern: Paper – 3: Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics Paper – 4: Corporate and Economic Laws Paper – 7: Direct Tax Laws and International Taxation Paper – 8: Indirect Tax Laws Changes in ICAI CA Final (Old) Exam Pattern: Paper – 3: Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics Paper – 4: Corporate and Allied Laws Paper – 6: Information Systems Control and Audit Paper – 7: Direct Tax Laws Paper – 8: Indirect Tax Laws Lok Sabha Elections 2019: ICAI CA May 2019 exam dates revised due to general polls
