New Delhi: Newly formed Narendra Modi led- Bhartaiya Janta Party's budget 2019 laid special focus on the education sector in order to keep India at par with the education provided in most elite educational institutions world-wide.  Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced New Nation Education policy to transform education system in the country. Finance Minister proposed major changes in both school and higher education and focused on research and innovation. Sitharaman proposed to inaugurate National Research Foundation in Union Budget 2019. She said “we want to upgrade quality of teaching in the country”. “There wasn’t a single Indian institution ranked in World Institution Ranking 5 years back. We have now 3 intuitions in top 200 institution bracket, including 2 IITs” Finance minister asserted. She also pressed that India has potential to become hub of higher education, therefore government would promote Higher Study in India and encourage entry of foreign students in India, which would in-turn benefit the Indian economy.
