The suspended students have also been slapped with a fine of Rs 25,000 each, as per the college principal Dr Arun Joshi.

The Haldwani Government Medical College has expelled 10 students from its hostel due to their alleged involvement in ragging at the college campus. The college administration has also barred these students from attending classes for a week, as per an official. The move from the college administration came following in information that junior students were being allegedly ragged at the second-year MBBS hostel. A fine of Rs 25,000 has also been imposed on each of the suspended students, Principal Dr Arun Joshi was reported as saying by news agency PTI.

Dr Joshi further informed that after the information received from a guard about the incidents of ragging in the college hostel, the disciplinary committee held a meeting, which was followed by another convened by the anti-ragging committee.
