As per various academicians, the CBSE 10th English Exam Paper had a good balance of difficulty and length with a good amount of variation among the three sets.
While the CBSE Board Exams 2024 are on, the CBSE 10th Exam for the English paper was held today, February 26. Now since the exam has concluded, we take a quick look down below on the analysis of the CBSE 10th English Exam Paper by several teachers and experts down below. The exam paper analysis would have students with an insight on the question paper and assess the question paper from a wider lens. That being said, let's have a quick look at what experts have to say about the CBSE 10th English Exam paper:
Sreelekha Sarcar, Educator Senior Years, Shiv Nadar School Gurugram
The MCQ option for Comprehension (Reading Passage Question 1) in one of the sets did not have the two options from which the student could choose. It will lead to confusion among the students. The paper was balanced and had a good mix of average to above-average questions. The pattern was based exactly on the sample papers released by CBSE.
Pooja Batra, Educator Senior Years, Shiv Nadar School, Noida
The CBSE English Grade 10 paper was moderate. In the literature section, some of the objective-type questions were vaguely framed. Sets 1 and 3 were of moderate length, while Set 2 was slightly lengthy. The students were well prepared, and the teachers' tips helped them while attempting the paper.
Mitu Majumdar, Educator Senior Years, Shiv Nadar School, Noida
Overall, it was a balanced paper, but there were noticeable variations between the three sets. The analytical paragraph questions were along the lines of the CBSE sample papers, and the students are confident of having done well here. The grammar questions were of easy to average level, but 3 – 4 questions confused the students. Only those students who have a thorough understanding of the rules of grammar will score perfectly.- Short answer type questions were all predicted, and not a single question was unfamiliar to the students. Long answer questions were competency-based and gave full scope for creativity and extrapolation. Our students were very excited that the questions based on the chapter “Bholi and The Ball” Poem gave them extensive scope to write. All the students could complete the paper on time, with some children completing it just in time. Many children wrote at length and were very confident of their answers.
Vayun Gupta, Student, Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad
The paper was the best paper yet. Everyone was able to complete the paper on time. We are ready to take on the boards.
Ms. Alka Kapur, Principal Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh
Today's 10th English CBSE Board Exam presented a well-balanced and standard paper, requiring students to demonstrate competency in the Literature Section. The focus was on a thorough understanding of chapters rather than mere cramming, emphasizing the importance of a deeper comprehension for scoring well. The Literature Section served as a testament to students' comprehensive knowledge.
The Writing Section provided a straightforward experience with the inclusion of business letters and paragraphs to comprehend. This simplicity is aimed at assessing the student's ability to convey information effectively and analyze content critically. The paper's setting seems intended to evaluate practical language skills and applications rather than rote memorization.
Sadhana Ramuka, Student Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh
Today's 10th English Exam provided a mixed bag of challenges and ease. In Section A, grappling with the unseen passages proved to be a mediocre experience, but the MCQs added a layer of complexity. Section B, however, offered a sigh of relief with straightforward grammar questions, alongside letter writing and analytical paragraphs, where a student can breezily articulate her/his thoughts. Moving on to Section C, the RTCs introduced a bit of difficulty, while the three markers seemed like a walk in the park. Overall, the exam provided a fair test of our skills and preparation.
