Bihar Home Guard Recruitment: The Bihar Home Guard Department has released admit cards for the physical efficiency test (PET) for the recruitment of 15,000 Home Guard positions.

The Bihar Home Guard Department has released admit cards for the physical efficiency test (PET) for the recruitment of 15,000 Home Guard positions. Candidates from Bhojpur, Munger, Lakhisarai, Darbhanga, and Purnia districts can now download their admit cards from the official website http://onlinebhg.bihar.gov.in, starting April 24, 2025.

Admit card release dates for other districts will be announced soon on the official portal.

Eligibility Criteria: Physical Standards

Height Requirements

Male (General): 5 feet 4 inches (162.56 cm)

Males from Purnia & Kosi Division (e.g., Araria, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Supaul, Madhepura): 5 feet 2 inches (157.5 cm)

All Female Candidates: 153 cm

Chest (Male Only)

General: 31 inches unexpanded (79 cm)

Purnia & Kosi Division: 30 inches (76 cm)

Selection Process – No Written Exam

The selection will be based solely on the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which carries a total of 15 marks. The merit list will be prepared based on performance in the PET. There will be no written examination.

Selection Process

  1. Race:
    Males: 1,600 metres in 6 minutes  
    Females: 800 metres in 5 minutes  
    Failure to complete within the allotted time leads to disqualification.
  2. Height & Chest Measurement: Only those who qualify in the race will be measured.
  3. Other Events:
       - High Jump  
       - Long Jump  
       - Shot Put  

Each event has a maximum of 5 marks, and candidates will get three attempts per event.

Candidates failing to meet height/chest criteria will be disqualified. There will be no second chance for candidates who miss their scheduled test date and time.

After the PET, document verification will take place for successful candidates. Following this a medical examination will be conducted. This would be the final stage before the appointment.

EWS: 1,495 posts

SC: 2,399 posts

ST: 159 posts

Extremely Backward Class: 2,694 posts

Backward Class: 1,800 posts

Women Horizontal Reservation: 5,094 posts  

Final Selection & Merit List

A merit list of candidates equal to 1.5 times the number of vacancies will be prepared based on PET scores. To ensure transparency and accuracy, biometric systems and photography will be used during PET. Race tracking chips will be attached to candidates’ feet to record performance down to the last second. This would minimise any chance of irregularities.
