1 Year Of New Education Policy! PM Modi To Address Virtual Event On July 29

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the program tomorrow through video conferencing. During this program, Education Minister will also be present and address the event.

One Year of New Educaiton Policy: On the completion of one year of the new education policy in the country, on July 29, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a program through video conferencing. During this program, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will also be present and address at the same time.

Meanwhile, the government said in the Lok Sabha on Monday that the education ministry is in the process of drafting a bill to set up the Higher Education Commission of India (HECI).

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, gave a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha, said, "The Ministry of Education announced the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 on July 29, 2020, after obtaining the approval of the Cabinet. The NEP provides for the setting up of the Higher Education Commission of India as a premier body with four independent bodies with separate functions for regulation, accreditation, funding and setting academic standards. Accordingly, he said that, the ministry is in the process of drafting a bill to set up the Higher Education Commission of India

Last week, Union Minister for Education and Skill Development Dharmendra Pradhan had said that the Multidisciplinary Education and Research University (MERU) will open new opportunities for India's youth to make India a global R&D destination by promoting inter-disciplinary research and center.

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said this while addressing the World University Summit organized by Jindal Global University through digital medium. He said, "The new National Education Policy-2020 has ushered in a new vision for the Indian higher education system. It underscores Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of building a self-reliant India.

Pradhan said that quality, equality, accessibility and affordability are the four pillars of the new education policy and a new India will emerge with the help of these. The Union Minister said that with the dream of 'Stay in India and Study in India' (Study in India-Stay in India) India will move towards becoming a global destination in the field of education.

Pradhan referred to the efforts made by the government to make education holistic, innovative, linguistically diverse and multi-disciplinary and said that no student's development should be affected due to language limitations or regional linguistic constraints.

He said that the Multidisciplinary Education and Research University (MERU) will open new opportunities for the youth of India. MERU will promote inter-disciplinary research and make India a global center of R&D.
