Parent Accuses Delhi Teacher Of Using 'Religious Words' Before Students, Demands Her Removal

A parent in Delhi has accused a government school teacher of using 'religious words' in class before students and has sought her removal.

Days after a UP teacher made headlines for asking her students to slap their fellow classmate and allegedly made some objectionable remarks, another case of a Delhi teacher using 'religious words' in class has come forth. The parents of students of a Delhi government school have accused a woman teacher of using 'religious words' before the children in her class. One of the parents has now demanded the sacking of the teacher and said that if she goes unpunished, it will give courage to other teachers as well.

Talking to ANI, a woman, Kausar, whose two kids study in the said school, said that there is no need of a teacher who creates differences among students.

"Two of my children study here - one in std 7 and the other in std 4. If the teacher goes unpunished, other teachers will get emboldened and they will speak things like "hamare deen ke nahi hain." They should be told to just teach and not speak on things about which they have no knowledge...There is no use of a teacher who creates differences among students (sic)," Kausar said.

Demanding the teacher's removal from school, Kausar said, "She should not teach in any school because she will do the same wherever she goes."

Meanwhile, DCP Shahdara Rohit Meena said that a complaint on the matter has been received and Juvenile Welfare Officer, along with counsellors are counselling the students.

"We received a complaint about a school teacher using some religious words before students. We have taken cognisance of the matter. Our Juvenile Welfare Officer, along with counsellors, is counselling. Legal action will be taken. There are 2-3 such students, so we are counselling them all. With true facts, we will register a case with appropriate sections. It is a Government school," Meena told ANI.

Muzaffarnagar Teacher Asks Students To Slap Fellow Classmate

A few days back, a video went viral on social media showing a woman teacher in a class. The teacher could be heard asking students to slap and hit one of their classmates, who is a Muslim. The incident drew massive outrage from parents of the child as well as political leaders who asked for action against the teacher.

Identified as Tripta Tyage, the teacher claimed the video had been tampered with to give a communal colour to the matter and said that it was shot by the student's uncle. But she agreed to the fact that she asked students to slap the boy, which was wrong. However, Tyagi said she allowed that as she was physically challenged and was not able to stand up and reach the student.

Notably, a case was registered against Tyagi on Saturday under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the Indian Penal Code on the complaint of the victim's family.
