A probe has been launched into the incident after the police received the 14-second video. Speaking to the media, Virender Vij, the deputy commissioner of police (Traffic), said that the accused had removed registration number plate from the vehicles to avoid identification.

He also said that the Gurugram police has asked the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) to share details of similar vehicles based on the colour and make.

This is not the first time such an incident has taken place. Last year too during Diwali some people were spotted bursting crackers on top of their car. In the video, a car could be seen speeding on Gurugram streets with a box of firecrackers on the boot. The police at that time too had made some arrest after the video went viral.
