Farmers' Protest: Commuter Woes Continue As Traffic Slows To A Crawl, Check Routes To Avoid
As farmers gear up for the 'Delhi Chalo' march on Wednesday, commuters continued to face trouble in the national capital due to restrictions.
Farmers Protest: Troubles for Delhi NCR commuters continued on Wednesday as traffic restrictions continued in the national capital due to the 'Delhi Chalo' march of the protesting farmers. Traffic movement remained severely affected along Delhi's Ghazipur border on Wednesday morning, news agency PTI reported.

In view of the ongoing protest, the Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory informing about the diversions of routes. According to the advisory, "commuters going towards Bahadurgarh, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Gurugram etc. via Rohtak Road, Najafgarh-Jharoda Road & Najafgarh-Dhansa Road are advised to use Najafgarh- Nangloi Road from Nangloi Chowk, Najafgarh-Daurala Road from Najafgarh and Najafgarh-Chhawla Road from Najafgarh to enter Haryana."

In another advisory issued earlier on Tuesday, the Delhi Traffic Police said, "NH-44 beyond Singhu Border has been closed for general traffic. Other connected roads going towards NH-44 - Sonipat/Panipat are also affected. 02 lanes of NH-9 and 01 lane of NH-24 at Gazipur Border are open for general public. Similarly 02 lanes of DND are also open for commuters." The commuters were, however, advised to plan their journey accordingly and avoid these stretches, especially during peak hours due to slow traffic.

The Delhi Traffic Police urged commuters to avoid DND flyover and take alternative routes. "Due to the deployment of pickets and checking on the DND Flyway, traffic is heavy on both carriageways of the DND Flyway. Commuters from Noida to Delhi and vice versa are advised to take alternative routes like the Chilla Border route," the Delhi Traffic Police said in a post.
