'Was Sleep-Deprived': Jaipur Man Arrested For Assaulting Muslim Vegetable Vendor Tells Cops
Anshul Dadhich was arrested for assaulting a Muslim vegetable vendor named Shahroz and uploading a video of the incident on social media.
Ranajstha police on Saturday arrested a man in Jaipur for uploading a video of him assaulting a Muslim vegetable vendor. Police have also arrested another man who was allegedly making the video of the assault.
The accused was identified as Anshul Dadhich, who assaulted a Muslim vegetable vendor Shahroz. The incident happened in the Brahmpuri region of the city.
As per a report by India Today, Anshul uploaded a video of the incident on social media, where he can be seen abusing Shahroz and telling him to prove that he was an Indian. While assaulting Shahro, a resident of Uttar Pradesh., the accused even called him a Bangladeshi.
Police arrested Anshul from his house after he posted the video on social media. Another accused Himmat Singh was also arrested for allegedly making the video.
After his arrest, Anshul reportedly told police that he assaulted Shahroz as he was "sleep-deprived". However, as per the India Today report, police said that the accused's social media profile showed that he regularly posted extremist content.
Last year, he had claimed on the water tank demanding that the country be declared a Hindu Rashtra. The situation escalated to the police where police had to intervene and bring him down, after which a case was registered against him.
