3 Killed As Truck Transporting Grocery To Uttarkashi Plunges Into Yamuna
The accident occurred when the pickup truck was transporting grocery items from Vikasnagar towards Purola-Mori. As per reports, the vehicle lost control near Chami Barnigad.

Three people were killed after a pickup vehicle veered off the road and plunged into the Yamuna River on the Yamunotri Highway in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi district on Monday.
The accident occurred when the pickup truck was transporting grocery items from Vikasnagar towards Purola-Mori. As per reports, the vehicle lost control near Chami Barnigad, tumbled down a deep gorge, and landed in the Yamuna River.
Upon receiving the alert, teams from the police, SDRF, and 108 ambulance services rushed to the scene. Rescue operations were promptly initiated, and after considerable effort, all three bodies were retrieved from the river.
The deceased have been identified as Naushad, Praveen Jain, and Ajay Shah, all residents of the Jeevangarh police station area in Dehradun's Vikasnagar. The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem.
An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident. It remains unclear whether it occurred due to overspeeding, a mechanical failure, or poor road conditions.
Locals said this particular stretch of the Yamunotri Highway is extremely dangerous and has witnessed several accidents in the past.
