UP To See Dip In Temperature In First Week Of May, Check Weather Forecast

On Thursday, heavy rainfall is likely in most areas of eastern UP, which could lead to a further drop in temperature.

The India Meteorological Department has predicted a fresh spell of rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds over northwest India from May 1 to 5.

The change in weather is due to a fresh active western disturbance, the weather department said.

IMD has forecast rainfall in both eastern and western parts of the state on Wednesday. In western Uttar Pradesh, scattered showers with thunder and lightning are likely today. During this period, surface winds blowing at speeds of 25–35 km/h and dust storms have also been forecasted. Similar weather conditions are expected in the eastern region as well. However, on Thursday, heavy rainfall is likely in most areas of eastern UP, which could lead to a further drop in temperature.

At the beginning of May, most parts of the state are likely to experience rainfall accompanied by strong winds, bringing further relief.

Over the next 24 hours, the maximum temperature may gradually drop by 2–3 degrees Celsius. However, there will be no significant change in the minimum temperature for now. On Monday, the highest temperatures were recorded in Orai, Jhansi, Agra, Banda, and Lakhimpur Kheri, where maximum temperatures ranged between 40 and 43 degrees Celsius.

IMD Forecast For Northwest India

IMD has predicted scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning and strong winds reaching 30-50 kmph over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from 1 May to 5 May.

Isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning and strong winds reaching 40-60 kmph is likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan from 30 April to 04th May.

Duststorm is very likely at isolated places over East Uttar Pradesh on 30 April; Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on  1 May and Rajasthan from 1 May to 5 May.
