25 Wagons Of Coal-Laden Goods Train Derail Near Vrindavan On Way To Rajasthan, No Casualties
The freight train derailment caused three lines to be blocked on the Mathura-Palwal route. The incident took place on Wednesday night.
Around 25 wagons of a freight train derailed near Vridhavan in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday night. According to a PTI report, the train was carrying coal to the Suratgarh Power Plant in Rajasthan. There were no reports of any casualties.

Divisional Railway Manager, Agra Division, Tej Prakash Agarwal told PTI that traffic on three railway lines was interrupted due to the derailment.
Agarwal told reporters that they received information about the incident around 8.12 pm. He said 25 wagons had derailed, adding that three lines were affected, which had brought train traffic to a halt on the Mathura-Palwal route. He said the fourth line was fine and rail traffic moving through it. Agarwal said the freight train, which was loaded with coal, was moving to Suratgarh Power Plant and derailed when it passed the Vrindavan Road station around 8 pm.

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Arvind Kumar told PTI that they received information about the derailment around 9 pm. They immediately informed the Government Railway Police (GRP), the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Civil Police after they reached the spot. They said they were investigating the reason behind the derailment.

Asked whether the derailment had any relation with previous such incidents or any sabotage angle, he said the reasons had not been ascertained yet. Railway staff is trying to clear the routes obstructed due to the derailment, Agarwal said.
Restoration work began soon after the authorities reached the site and inspected it.
