'Naidu Would Stoop To Any Level': YSRCP MP Subba Reddy Refutes Andhra CM's Allegations On Tirumala Laddu Quality
Tirupati Laddu controversy arose after CM Naidu alleged that during previous YSRCP government, substandard items and animal fat were used in making the prasad distributed at Sri Venkateswara temple.
Tirupati news: YSRCP leader and Rajya Sabha member YV Subba Reddy, who has served as the chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) for two terms, accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of making damaging statements about the sacred Tirumala temple and its revered Laddu prasadam. The controversy arose after Naidu alleged that during the previous YSRCP government, substandard ingredients and animal fat were used in making the Tirupati Laddu, a consecrated sweet distributed at the Sri Venkateswara temple.
During an NDA legislature party meeting, Naidu claimed, "Even Tirumala Laddu was made with substandard ingredients... they used animal fat instead of ghee." He further stated that under his current government, pure ghee is now being used and that sanitation has been improved at the temple, resulting in better quality prasadam.
'Malicious': YSRCP Responds
In response, Subba Reddy took to social media to vehemently deny these accusations, calling them "malicious." In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he stated, "His comments about the Tirumala prasadam are extremely malicious. No person would speak such words or make such accusations." Subba Reddy went on to assert that Naidu would "stoop to any level for political gain."

To counter Naidu's allegations, Subba Reddy offered a challenge, stating, "It has been proved once again that Chandrababu will not hesitate to do anything bad for the benefit of politics. To strengthen the faith of the devotees, I and my family are ready to take an oath as witnesses of that God in the case of Tirumala Prasad. Is Chandrababu also ready to take an oath with his family?"
