Seconds from Death: Elderly Man Scrolling Phone Misses Train; And Then... VIDEO
An elderly man was nearly run over after missing his train while scrolling his phone at Betul station. However, an RPF cop's heroic rescue saved his life. The act is now a viral video.

What started as a casual stroll nearly ended in tragedy for a 66-year-old man at Betul railway station in Madhya Pradesh — all because of a mobile phone.
Rakesh Kumar Jain had stepped off the Bhopal-Nagpur Swarna Jayanti Express to stretch his legs. The train was on a routine stop, and Jain, like many passengers, thought he had time. But instead of watching the clock or the platform, he sank into his phone, scrolling aimlessly as seconds ticked by.
What he didn't realise was that the train had already begun moving.

In CCTV footage that has since gone viral, the train is seen picking up speed just a few feet from where Jain sat, completely unaware. By the time he looked up, the Swarna Jayanti Express was already pulling out of the station. Panic set in.
Jain jumped to his feet and began sprinting alongside the moving train. In a desperate bid to catch it, he grabbed the handle of a coach but lost his grip almost instantly. His legs gave out. He slipped. For a brief, terrifying moment, his body was parallel to the wheels, his head inches from the train.
Then came the miracle.
RPF constable Satya Prakash Rajurkar, who had been monitoring the platform, saw it unfold in real-time. Without hesitation, he sprinted towards Jain, threw himself forward, and yanked the elderly man away from the edge, just as it looked like he was about to be crushed.
It wasn’t just a rescue. It was a life snatched back from the jaws of a high-speed disaster.
Jain, shaken but safe, later told the RPF: “I only wanted to walk for a few minutes. It was a mistake to get distracted by my phone. Had constable Rajurkar not pulled me away, I wouldn’t be here.”
The RPF posted the rescue video with a pointed reminder: “Brave effort that prevented a tragedy. Avoid distractions like mobile phones at stations. Alertness is your best protection.”
