'Restore NSG Cover For Akhilesh Yadav': Samajwadi Party Writes To Amit Shah
The Samajwadi Party has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, requesting the restoration of NSG protection cover for party chief Akhilesh Yadav in addition to his existing Z+ security.

In the letter Party said, "Previously, he was provided Z+ security along with NSG cover. However, the NSG cover was later withdrawn."
The development followed after Akhilesh Yadav received a death threat from a man and a BJP leader. The party also charged on Uttar Pradesh government for not taking any stringent action against these individuals.

"Recently, a person openly issued a death threat to him on a news channel, right in front of the camera. Additionally, a BJP leader also threatened to kill Hon’ble Shri Akhilesh Yadav ji — a video of which has gone viral on social media. Despite this, the Uttar Pradesh government has not taken any punitive action against these individuals, which is highly condemnable and a matter of serious concern," the party added in the letter.
Death Threat To Akhilesh Yadav
An individual in a video reportedly threatened to shoot Akhilesh Yadav on April 12. In response to a viral video of the threat, advocate Azm Saeed Manu, the state vice-president of the Samajwadi Adhivakta Sabha, along with other lawyers, submitted a formal request at the Dhoomanganj police station on Monday, demanding that a First Information Report (FIR) be registered in the case.
Advocate Azm Saeed Manu from the Allahabad High Court stated that the individual issuing the threat is Amarendra Pratap Singh, a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri, who can be seen in the video openly threatening to shoot former CM Akhilesh Yadav while filming with his associates. Manu emphasized the need for immediate action against the individual. Among those who submitted the complaint were lawyers Rajeev Yadav, Kamal Kanojia, and others.
The threat has triggered widespread outrage among Samajwadi Party workers across the state, prompting protests at various locations.
