Saif Ali Khan Stabbed: Mumbai BJP Leader Ram Kadam Holds Police Responsible For Incident

Following an assault on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, politicians across the party lines expressed concern about public safety in the state of Maharashtra.

In response to the attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his residence in Bandra, Maharashtra, in the early hours of Thursday, BJP leader from Maharashtra Ram Kadam said that it is the responsibility of the police to ensure that such incidents do not happen in future.

Kadam said, as quoted by news agency ANI, "According to Police, a man entered the actor's house with the intention of robbery, and in a scuffle with the man the actor suffered injuries. The Police will investigate the incident and no one will be spared. Police is responsible to ensure such an incident does not repeat."

Congress leader from Maharashtra Varsha Eknath Gaikwad took to X (formerly Twitter) and questioned the safety and security of common man. The Member of Parliament (MP) from Mumbai North Central, tagging Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, "Extremely shocked at this brazen attack. What is going on in Mumbai? That this happens in Bandra in a what is known as a safe neighbourhood, is what is most concerning. What security can the common man then expect?

Day in and day out we hear of gun violence, robberies, stabbing incidents in Mumbai and MMR and the government has no answers. We need answers."

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi also raised the questions on Mumbai Police and the Home Minister, and asked, "If celebrities are not safe then who in Mumbai is?"

Calling the attack in Saif Ali Khan as an unfortunate incident Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey said, "When celebrities and VIPs are not safe in this country, then what will happen to the normal people. Earlier, there was firing outside Salman Khan's residence, then Baba Siddique was murdered and now Saif Ali Khan has been stabbed. Is there any law and order or not in Mumbai? Devendra Fadnavis should take cognizance of this matter."

Commenting on this development, veteran leader and NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar questioned the law and order situation in Mumbai and asked Maharashtra CM to pay heed to this situation.

Taking a potshot on the current situation in Maharashtra, Sanjay Raut, another leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), said that no one in the state is safe as the law and order situation in the state has collapsed in the last three years.
