In view of the upcoming Republic Day celebrations, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Traffic Police has issued an advisory detailing traffic restrictions for goods vehicles, effective from 10 pm on January 25 until the conclusion of the Republic Day programme on January 26. The restrictions are aimed at ensuring safety during the high-profile celebrations.
According to the advisory, goods vehicles—whether heavy, medium, or light—will be diverted to alternate routes to prevent their entry into Delhi. Vehicles entering the city from the Chilla Red Light border will be required to take a U-turn and proceed via the Noida and Greater Noida Expressways to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. Similarly, vehicles approaching from the DND border will turn back at the toll plaza and follow the same alternate route.

As part of Republic Day arrangements, additional traffic restrictions in Dehi will be in place on January 25 and 26. From 5 pm on January 25 until the conclusion of the parade, Kartavyapath, from Vijay Chowk to India Gate, will be closed to vehicles. Further, no cross traffic will be permitted on Kartavyapath at Rafi Marg, Janpath, and Man Singh Road from 10 pm on January 25.
On January 26, vehicular movement will be restricted from C-Hexagon to India Gate from 9.15 am until the parade crosses Tilak Marg. From 10.30 am onwards, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, and Netaji Subhas Marg will be closed for traffic, with cross traffic allowed only depending on the parade's movement.
The police have advised road users to plan their journeys in advance, particularly from 9.30 am to 1 pm, to avoid any inconvenience. While there are no specific restrictions for commuters from north Delhi heading towards New Delhi Railway Station or Old Delhi Railway Station, the police recommend allocating extra time to avoid potential delays.
