Rajasthan Celebrates Ahilyabai Holkar’s 300th Birth Anniversary With Mega Women Empowerment Drive

The Rajasthan government will disburse welfare scheme benefits to nearly 80,000 women and girls at a Jaipur event celebrating Ahilyabai Holkar's 300th birth anniversary.

Rajasthan News: The Bhajanlal Sharma government in Rajasthan is organising a special event in Jaipur on Saturday to mark the 300th birth anniversary of social reformer and former queen of the Malwa kingdom (present-day Madhya Pradesh and southeastern Rajasthan) Ahilyabai Holkar. The event will see the government provide women with benefits under these schemes. The chief guest at the event will be the BJP's national president and Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda.

The Bhajanlal Sharma government will also host the Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Women Empowerment Conference at the Rajasthan International Centre from 2 PM. In the presence of Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda, the event, dedicated to women's empowerment, will see the state government release benefits under multiple schemes for women and girls of the state. Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) funds will also be made available to beneficiaries.

'Gifts' To Women Of Rajasthan

The event will include loan disbursals to 1,800 women under the Lakhpati Didi Loan Scheme and direct transfer of assistance to 32,755 girls under the Ladli Protsahan Yojana. Additionally, around 17,000 girls will receive ST pre-matriculation scholarships, 152 girls will receive Safai Kamgar Pre-Matric Scholarships, and 19,183 girl students will receive fee reimbursement under the Balika Distance Education Scheme. As many as 6,489 girls will receive the Gargi Award, Balika Shiksha Protsahan Yojana funds, and Padmakshi Award funds. Furthermore, 2,000 girl students will receive scooters under the Kalibai Bhil Medhavi Chhatra Scooter Yojana.

Bhajanlal Govt's New Initiatives

A total of 150 Kalika Patrolling Units will be flagged off at the event. These units will ensure the safety of women and children in Rajasthan. Additionally, the Garbh Ki Pathshala Yojana, Swasth Nari Chetna Abhiyan, and the first phase of the Pregnancy Diabetes Management Programme will be launched across 4,125 institutions selected in 10 districts.

A digital coffee table book on the National Tobacco Control Programme will also be released. Various projects, including four Kasturba Gandhi Balika Shiksha Vidyalayas and two tribal girls' hostels, will be inaugurated and foundation stones laid to promote girls' education.
