2 Wanted In Shooting Cases Shot At In Punjab's Tarn Taran

Two miscreants were shot in the leg during an encounter by Punjab Police in Khem Karan.
As per Ajay Raj, SP Investigation Tarn Taran Singh, "Two miscreants named Prakash Singh and Prabhjeet Singh were injured... They were involved in two recent firing incidents..." The SP added that further investigation is underway.
A few days back, a wanted criminal was injured following an encounter with a police team near Nadampur village in Bhawanigarh.
According to officials, the encounter occurred when the police brought the accused, Maninder Singh Mohali, to the location for the recovery of a weapon. Sangrur SSP Sartaj Singh Chahal said that the situation escalated when the gangster opened fire on the officers. In response, the police retaliated, injuring the gangster in the leg.
On February 14, a gangster was injured while two others were arrested after an encounter with police at a checkpoint near Bhullar village in Tarn Taran district, as reported by ETV Bharat.
Tarn Taran DSP Atun Soni said the police received information that three gangsters of the Lakhbir Singh alias Landa gang accused of attacking Satnam Singh Harike Sidhupur Ekta, the leader of Bharatiya Kisan Union Sidhupur Ekta, were travelling in a white car. To intercept and arrest the accused, the police set up a road blockade near Bhullar village. However, the miscreants on reaching the checkpoint hit their vehicle with a police van and stared firing on the police team. In the meanwhile, the accused, Jaskaran Singh, Harman and Harminder Singh tried to escape after getting off the car. "Jaskaran was injured in his abdomen in the exchange of fire with the police while his accomplices, Harman and Harminder were arrested and taken into custody", Soni said.
Last year, in December, Punjab Police arrested four people including a police officer following an encounter in connection with a firing incident in Tarn Taran. The arrested were identified as Yadwinder Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Prabhdeep Singh and Pawandeep Singh.
