Repeat Offenses Raise Alarm
In a similar incident a few months ago, a gold chain was snatched inside a temple during a pooja ceremony. The act, caught on camera at Ganesh Temple in Shankar Nagar, showed a thief reaching through a window and grabbing a gold chain from an elderly woman. The force of the snatch caused her head to hit the window, leading to panic among devotees. The culprit fled within seconds, leaving the temple in turmoil.
Bengaluru Police have registered cases for both incidents and are investigating the matter.
This is not an isolated case; Bengaluru has witnessed many incidents of chain-snatching crimes. These incidents have sparked renewed concerns over public safety, especially for women and elderly citizens who are often targeted in chain snatching incidents.
