In June, a 19-year-old youth was fatally stabbed in the Geeta Colony area of Shahdara, Delhi, on Friday evening, in what police suspect to be a case of road rage. The victim, identified as Yash, sustained a stab wound to the lower back and was declared dead on arrival at Laxmi Nagar Hospital.
According to Shahdara District DCP Prashant Gautam, the initial probe suggests that Yash was attacked following a confrontation on the road. He told ANI, "Three accused, identified as Amaan, Rihan, and Lucky, were arrested in connection with the murder of a 19-year-old boy, Yash. On 27 June, around 9:41 pm, information was received from Laxmi Nagar hospital that a boy of around 20 years of age was brought dead after a stab injury on the lower back."
The incident reportedly occurred between 8:00 and 8:30 p.m. near the victim's residence. Police said the murder was first reported around 9:41 PM when the hospital alerted them to a stabbing victim who had succumbed to his injuries.
