Noida Private Firm Employee Poses As US Model On Dating Apps, Scams 700 Women

A 22-year-old resident of Delhi's Shakarpur has been arrested for extorting over 700 women by posing as a model on dating platforms like Bumble. The accused, identified as Tushar Bisht, posed as a US-based freelance model visiting India, police said. Bisht works as a technical recruiter at a private company in Noida.
He targeted mainly women aged between 18 and 30 and gained their trust through photos and stories stolen from an actual Brazilian model. Once connected, he requested their contact information, eventually blackmailing them with intimate photos and videos to extort money. A mobile phone, an app-based virtual international mobile number and 13 credit cards were recovered from his possession, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vichitra Veer said.
How The Police Caught The Fake Model
"A complaint was received in our cyber police station on 13 December in which a woman said that she came in contact with a person through a social media platform. During this time that person took her into confidence and made her share her private photographs and videos. In return for which, after some time that person started demanding money from her...She told about the incident to her family and lodged a complaint at the police station," the police officer said.
Police said Bisht was in contact with hundreds of girls through various chatting platforms. "We are investigating whose videos and photographs he has. The matter is very sensitive, so we are approaching the complainants in a very secretive way through our women staff," they added.
Bisht's father works as a driver, his mother is a homemaker, and his sister is employed in Gurugram.
