A BMW driver lost control on Mumbai's Coastal Road, crashing into side rails.

A Juhu resident has been booked by the police after he lost control of his speeding BMW and crashed into the side rails near Worli on Sunday morning.

The incident was captured on camera and has been widely shared on social media.

The video shows a speeding black BMW on the city's Coastal Road overtaking another vehicle road. However, the car loses control jumping to another lane and dashing to the rail of the road.

The car was left severely damaged, though no one was hurt in the accident. Rishabh Aneja, who was driving the car was booked by the Worli police, reported India Today.

A case was registered against Aneja on Monday under  multiple sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, and the Motor Vehicles Act, corresponding to rash and dangerous driving and endangering public safety.

Last week, a similar incident took place near  Kattihosahalli in Karnataka’s Doddaballapur taluk. A car lost control while travelling from Dharwad to Vijaypura and crashed into a highway divider.

The car overturned multiple times ejecting two occupants from the vehicle. Mohammad Yunis, the 20-year-old driver of the car succumbed to his injuries, while five others sustained serious wounds, as per the report.

A preliminary probe suggested that the driver might have lost control of the vehicle, but further investigation was needed to ascertain whether other factors such as speed, road conditions, or mechanical failure were behind the incident.
