Monday Blues Get Real For Delhiites As They Wake Up To Earthquake — This Is How Internet Reacted

Delhi Earthquake: A local vendor recalled how customers started screaming after feeling the tremors early morning.

Delhi Earthquake: Delhiites woke from their sleep after a 4.0-magnitude earthquake hit Delhi-NCR around 5.35 am on Monday, causing panic among people. Many people rushed out of their homes. There have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

A passenger waiting for his train at the New Delhi Railway Station said the intenstity was so hight that it felt as if any bridge has collapsed. Another passenger at the station, where a stampede killed 18 people just two days ago, said. "It was for a lesser time, but the intensity was so high. It felt like any train has come with a very high speed."

A local vendor recalled how customers started screaming after feeling the tremors early morning. "Tremors were so strong. I have never felt like this ever before. The entire building was shaking," said a Ghaziabad resident.

"Absolutely insane it was, can't explain the adrenaline rush that people in New Delhi experienced, even though the magnitude wasn't THAT high, but it still felt huge," a user said on X.

Another X user jokingly wrote, "Din mai pollution, sham ko grahan and ab earthquake."

The Delhi Police also issued a helpline and prayed for everyone's safety. Delhi-NCR falls in Seismic Zone IV, making it prone to moderate to strong earthquakes.

A woman said she first grabbed her sweater before running out of her home. "Felt the earthquake tremors in Delhi. Did I grab my phone? No. A sweater? Nope. I just channelled my inner Usain Bolt & sprinted down three floors like my life depended on it—coz it did," she wrote on X.

Visuals on social media showed people gathering in streets outside their homes as a precautionary step.
