Amaran, produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International, narrates the story of Major Mukund, exploring both his military career and his emotional bond with his wife, Indhu, played by Sai Pallavi. The film, inspired by the book India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, highlights the sacrifices of military families. The music, composed by GV Prakash Kumar, has been praised for its emotional resonance.
Major Mukund sacrificed his life in the Operation in Shopian in 2014. The movie also features Bhuvan Arora, and Rahul Bose in key roles.
Released on October 31, Amaran has been a commercial success, earning Rs 187 crore net worldwide within its first eight days, according to Sacnilk.com. The film has surpassed the box office collections of Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 and is now the third highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024, following Vijay’s The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) and Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan.
